TechUG is a user driven and run community for Enterprise IT Professionals focused on TEchCHange.
With the help of local committee members from organisations like Confused.com, Wrigleys Solicitors, University of York, Betgenius, Wakefield Council, Sage, Piksel, JD Williams , Deutsche Bank amongst many others, we run local knowledge sharing and networking communities with free regional community events across the UK. From its outset, TechUG has been driven by the needs of local IT Pro’s and was started when a senior infrastructure manager and engineer who worked for DLA Piper decided Leeds needed something local.
The community now hosts 18 events a year across 9 cities. Each community hosts 2 full day user group events per year, these are run as full day multi theme conferences with a central networking and sponsors area. They are free to attend and include refreshments, a hot lunch, and complementary networking drinks session at the end of each day. We secure sponsors to support these communities and fund the events.
The community is fully funded by sponsors who participate fully in TechUG Community Events with a table top presence and speaking opportunities.
Our community audience is focused on mid-market to large organisation. Attendees are technically focused, job titles vary but include CTO, Head of Infrastructure, Data Centre Manager, Desktop Architect, Head of Infrastructure, Infrastructure Architect, IT Director, IT Manager, IT Security Manager, Network Infrastructure Manager, Storage Architect, Systems Engineer, Technical Architect, Virtualisation Engineer – essentially a senior technical architect, engineer, manager or director.
The TechUG Event Format…
Our community events are essentially 1 day conferences, some with just one content stream and other larger communities with 2 or 3 streams. There is always a central networking area at which our sponsors have a table top presence. In this area we serve coffee, tea and pastries on arrival, a hot buffet lunch and afternoon tea. We always break out a few beers for the late afternoon sessions and then usually head to the bar for extra networking around 4.30pm. The day is completely free of charge of members and all costs are covered by sponsors.
There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available and these include speaking and exhibiting opportunities.
